He is such a nice person, and very fair. Will give you ALL the help you need outside of class, and really encourages you to do well. I would take him again if I could. Also, he is so known/honored in his field that it would really do you justice to get in good w/ him and have him write you a recommendation. The course required a lot of work, but it was all a great learning experience, and none of it was extremely hard.

He's a very friendly professor. The lab can be very frustrating since you're designing your own unique experiments and no one knows what may happen, but he does an excellent job of motivating you and encouraging your work. The grading depends on the TA mostly, but the class is pretty laid back. It takes up a lot of outside time but you usually stay only a fraction of the scheduled class time. I have never appreciated research as much as I do now, and I think this class is beneficial to anyone interested in biology/research.
