By a student who took EE382M
Surprised that no one has written about Dr. Jacob. Easily one of the best 'teachers' in the ECE department. * His enthusiasm rubs on to the students. His eyes lit up like a kid in a candy shop when he is discussing ideas with students. Clearly this man wants to be there in the classroom, unlike some of the other professors. * Inspite of being one of the busiest Professors, is always excited to entertain problems students have. * His homeworks make you think. and thus learn. * His tests again just test your understanding. Open book always. Doesnt care if You get the wrong answer, just grades on the way you solve it. Gives full credit even when the answer sometimes is way off. * I only wish this course was spread over two semesters. I think even He too would want it that way in the ideal world. * I have a problem with his grading, of a different kind. He gives A's rather easily, thats perhaps because he doesnt care about grades, but when we are judged outside his class, there doesnt appear any difference between one who worked hard, and one who just had a casual walk through the park. but not a big disappointment anyways. overall, it was an experience in life to be in his class.
