Hello! I will be a senior next year. I'm thinking about the APs I should take to prepare myself for and highlight my interest in an entrepreneurship major. I will likely take AP Calculus, Statistics, Macroeconomics, and Microeconomics or Seminar. Other classes are unrelated APs (European History and French), English, and electives like Entrepreneurship (you write a business plan paper over the course of a semester for a business competition). Should I take Microeconomics, Seminar, or another AP?
APs I have already taken or am taking are Music Theory, US History, Physics 1, and 2D Studio Art + Design.
Edit: course requests just dropped and my school only offers "AP Economics"... not sure if that's micro or macro but I'm taking it.
It sounds like the APs you’ve taken and the ones that you’re planning on are good for your major! Microeconomics would probably be a better choice than seminar for an entrepreneurship major considering the financial nature of both.
I’d only recommend taking seminar as well if you were going for an AP Capstone, which probably won’t help you a lot as an entrepreneurship major (unless if your intent is pre-law).
Thank you so much, but unfortunately I just realized (as course requests dropped yesterday) that my school only offers "AP Economics," there isn't a macro AND micro course. Strange, I know. Would you mind telling me if you would recommend another AP or perhaps another business course/a student leadership course?
I think economics is still a good idea! Stats and calc are going to make your senior year coursework look good, so I wouldn’t drop either of those. If you can, taking business might look good, but if it’s a choice between that and economics, I’d go with economics.
If you want, you could look into self studying for AP Micro/Macro so you could still graduate with test scores for those. Good luck!
