College Admissions with no APS, few honors.

Hello fellow Juniors!

Quick question. I went for scheduling with my guidance counselor and I was recommended to take multiple APs next year. I ended up not taking any, which means I will finish out high school with no AP classes. However, I do take honors. I have taken 4 honors classes and I plan on taking only 1 next year. My high school offers most of the AP classes from CollegeBoard (I think it is like 25 total). With only taking 5 honors total and no APs, do you think this will look bad on college applications?

I participate in 6 extracurriculars (1 varsity sport and 4 clubs,1 outside organization) and I have decent test scores. My gpa is a 3.98 unweighted and a 4.2 weighted. I am planning on applying to and eligible for National Honor Society, English Honor Society, and History Honor Society.

Thank you!

- A burnt out junior :)

Since you take honors, and do well, you stand out, but because your highschool offers multiple APs and you have chosen not to take any, colleges may think you won't be suited for the rigor of their courses. Take my words with a grain of salt because if you're aiming for a presitigous college this could reflect badly on you, but if you're aiming for the average college, you're doing amazing.

Not to mention, your extracurriclars are amazing and you've cemented yourself very well in them so I think you'll do fine wherever you enroll.
