Next year I start my Junior year and I'm concerned whether I should take more than 1 AP classes. I've done multiple Honors classes, but I've heard that doing AP takes a lot more of your time. Since I do Track and Field my schedule is very full due to twice a day practices. I know doing AP classes will help my GPA and I would like to do as many as I can. So I am torn between doing school Track and Field and not doing school Track and Field. What should I do?
If you enjoy track and field, stick with it. Not only is it good exercise, but if you’re good at it and stick with it, colleges will see that. If the second AP class you’re thinking about taking is in a subject you struggle with, then I wouldn’t recommend it, but if it’s a subject you feel you’re good at, go for it. Do what makes you happy, at the end of the day that’s all that matters.
I will suggest that you concentrate more on the AP classes and probably reduce the practice time for your track and field if possible. Doing the AP classes will improverove your G.P.A which grants you more chances to enter a college. Nevertheless, don't let your passion for track and field just fade away. Remember, extracurricular activities are part of the requirements too. Have a nice day @2024Skylynn.Townsend
I wouldn’t take more than 2 AP classes as a athlete. I play 2 varsity sports all honors and AP courses. My AP English grade tanked due to the amount of coursework is brutal 3-4 assignments daily on top of practice every day. Recruiters are watching grades and now it’s not worth it having a low AP grade.
