Virtual volunteer music opportunity

I came across this the other day.

Seems like a great opportunity for student musicians and an easy way to get volunteer hours

if you are a musician.

It's always a good idea to check out the nonprofit and make sure they look legitimate. There are a few red flags with this one. For example, there's no associated tax ID #. All nonprofits have to file 990 tax returns, which are publicly available. Next, the links to the social media channels are broken. Finally, the about link does not list board members, staff, or anyone you can verify on Linkedin. There is no way to see the people associated with running the nonprofit. My suggestion is to approach cautiously and ask for proof of nonprofit status.
