Should I work a second job?

I am gonna be a senior in high school in September. Right now I am a junior (11th grade). I am gonna be a teacher's aide for 6 weeks in the summer. I want to apply to a gas station near my house but I am afraid I will burn myself out. Summer school is only Mon-Thurs around 3 hours a day with $12 hour pay. The gas station job is around $15 an hour. I want to work weekends and keep my Friday off. Should I work the second job? Summer school is so short so it doesn't matter but I don't want to burn myself out.

I think that if you can manage to balance your time between summer school and a job that you'll be okay but don't push yourself too hard although it would benefit you you have to think about how it'll affect your mental and physical being. Getting the most money you can is always good though so I say go for it.

I would advise against taking the gas station job unless you need extra money to cover necessities. Your summer before senior year is an important period in your college applications timeline - now is the best time for you to finalize your school list, visit colleges, begin your applications, pursue extracurriculars, and prepare for standardized tests. I recommend making the most of the free time you have to do these things and more preparation for college apps. Hope this helps!
