How much does DECA help your chances of getting into college?

I am part of my school's DECA chapter, which is a competitive business club. We participate in regional, state, and international competitions. I compete in sports and entertainment marketing and I am looking to get into business school at either Michigan, Texas Austin, Florida, or Wisconsin.

I got 2nd place overall at the regional and state competition.

I got 6th place overall out of the top 200 competitors around the country.

DECA is a common extracurricular, so it will only help your odds of admission if you demonstrate exceptional achievement and leadership in it. I would say that your competition wins do turn DECA into an impressive activity for you. Try to gain leadership positions in it too if you haven't already. Hope this helps!
