I got mostly A’s and B’s but also a few C’s in some of my AP courses. I will still be getting the credits because you need about a 70% to get them. But I didn’t do as well as I hoped. I’m scared colleges won’t accept my grades bc I got a few C’s but this is my first year ever getting them. They are high C’s in the 76% to 79% range so not terrible. Any advice ?
The most important thing to focus on is doing the best you can next year in the most rigorous courses possible. Pair this with applying RD to schools - that way, they will see an upward trend in your grades for one semester. Besides that, I also recommend using the Additional Information section to explain any extenuating circumstances that may have lowered your grades. Hope this helps!
I spoke to a college advisor and its nothing much you can do now, they really are not looking at senior year.
I know that bad grades can be really stressful, especially when applying to college. Senior year is a new year, so try not to dwell so much on what you can't change. If you can pinpoint what caused these bad grades, like taking too many arduous classes or not being able to commit to studying time, then try to work on that next year. You can always explain the grades in the "Additional Information" section of college applications, and keep in mind that schools care about more than just academics, so this isn't the end of the world!
