I am just now finishing my junior year of high school. I have a few impressive extracurriculars however, they do not completely fit my intended major. I plan to study computer science when I get to college however, I do not have many extracurriculars that fit that. Well, I am the vice president of my schools computer science and STEM club. Are there any other extracurriculars I can do that relate to computer science? I have experience with coding and math. I also know the basics of computer science. Any ideas?
You may start some projects with the CS and STEM Club.
Here is a blog post that lists a few computer science-related extracurriculars. Hope this helps!
Hi @AlexanderOddo! Thank you so much for sharing the blog post! I found it to be very helpful
So what I think would be a great extra curricular for you is to participate in your local science fair! Then, you might progress to regionals, states, or (if your project is good enough) even international! I’m sure you can do it, with you enjoying computer science. If you have any questions on how to go about participating in a science fair and completing a question, just leave a comment on this and I’ll explain all the steps!
Thank you @Crocheter12! I will consider participating in a local science fair!
Sciencebuddies.org is a great place to start when looking for science fair project ideas. However, most of the ideas are very basic so I would recommend taking the project farther, especially since I assume you’re in high school. Science buddies also has lots of info on how to do a science fair. Best of luck!
