Scores --> Major

Hi, I am a rising Junior and interested in Environmental Science as a College major/minor. I scored a 3 on my AP Environmental Science Exam and although I did pass I believe that I could've done better. It was my first AP test and finished out with a 98% (an "A" at my school). How does that look to colleges to apply to study ES with a 3 on the AP?

It will still look good to colleges because they care much more about your grades than AP exam scores. Taking an AP class itself shows a commitment to ES, and a passing score of 3 is still an accomplishment. So long as you write essays and have strong extracurriculars relating to ES, you will be fine. Hope that helps!

I would say that despite your score, you have proven your intertest in the subject so that does make you stand out. But the advice I have gotten from people in that field told me that while grades are important experience above all else makes one stand out in that field. So you should look into environmental internships or volunteer at people who do environmental things, which will not only make you stand out but help you build connections within the field.
