Hi everyone. I'm an international student looking to study in the US. I have an interest in Neuroscience but apparently, it's supposed to be a grad program mostly a Ph.D. I see that Stanford University has a great program. But I'm confused about what I should take as a major for a bachelor's degree so I have a higher chance of getting approved there. Is it a bad idea that I take biology, psychology, computer science, or even a medical degree first? Also, should I take a master's degree too afterward or can I jump into a Ph.D. instead?
Is it ok if I opt in for undergrad college in my country and take a grad school in the US afterward as my chances of acceptance as an international student are way lower than usual...
Hi, I did not know the answer of this question on the top of my head so Google was my friend today! My curious mind dig in on different university requirements it seems as though they just want you to go on a scientific route ( the common bio chem and neuroscience course work) and have tons of laboratory experience, find any internships you can apply for during your college years, have very good testing score on the GRE, and have good personal statements, I suggest taking the route that will give you to best experience for your very prestigious field
Hopefully this helped have a Blessed Day :)

thanks but there are no bio chem courses here where I live unless I just go to medical school,...
Maybe major in psychology or just go to med school
lol, that's what I thought... I have kind of a phobia of blood and hospitals so I don't think I can finish med school, but psych for sure is better!
i suggest majoring in psychology for your phobia :)
Thanks! Though what should I do as masters then? Because just psych may not be enough to get into Stanford's phd program in neuroscience. And in my country I can't become a psychiatrist without med school so I'm trapped...
for that situation I suggest you might need to go out of comfort zone and do med school it will give you a higher chance to get in
haha... never... I like my comfort zone, and I don't wanna prove my mom right to her wish of me being a doctor, lol
Lol well you just do what makes you comfortable but you might have to do med school sorry
Lol yikes...
just telling if youre still here that I have joined psychology major... hope it all works out
you can double major
or you can major in one and minor in the other
In the US sure... can't do that in my country, no such thing as majoring in 2 places in the same time or minors. Because I'm leaving coming to the US for graduate programs I still gotta choose one for bachelors...
Please help...
