Should I consider AS or A level exams as similar to APs?
Answered

I've been feeling guilty about not taking any APs so far when it feels like most people preparing for college have taken several, but I'm also in the Cambridge International program where we take AS and A level exams each year. Can I consider these exams as similar to AP exams in terms of how they will impact my admissions and college credits? My target college takes a lot of credits from A and AS level exams, fortunately.

Yes, AICE exams are considered the same as AP/IB exams, they just aren't as widely known because they are only offered in a very small portion of the U.S. despite being at the same level as AP/IB. You may not receive credit for passing some of the exams if the college doesn't have a class that corresponds to the AICE exam, such as AICE Thinking Skills, but most will give credit if you score well enough for their standards on the exam. If you're looking at it for collegevine chancing, I would put any AICE classes you take under the AP/IB class section and any pre-AICE classes under honors.
