I'm sort of in the same boat as you are, so I'm happy to help!

Medical Internships- paid or unpaid

Shadowing- this is when you contact a doctor and with their permission, follow them (like a shadow) for a few days to a few weeks. You get to see the doctor's daily life and may even be able to do a few tasks for them!

Hospital Community Service- create "get-well" cards for cancer patients, fundraise for a children's hospital, etc.

Mix and Match- take a skill you already have and bring it to a medical aspect. This can get really unique! Are you a writer? Write a blog on rare surgery stories from the ER. Do you play an instrument? Create a class where you pay people to learn your skills; donate the money to a hospital.

Creating a Club- not only does this show immense leadership, but it can gather people in your community who- just like you- are into medicine and science! I'm planning a Cancer Awareness Club in my school where students would learn about different sorts of cancer, fundraise for organizations, and educate others on cancer.
