The best way to prepare is figuring out where you want to go to school. Consider what you want in a college/university. This includes size, location, student to teacher ratio, etc. It is also best to look for schools with a strong program for your intended major.

In terms of high school, make sure you keep your grades up, take challenging courses, and try to earn leadership positions in any clubs you are a part of. Also make sure you take the SAT or ACT. I recommend taking a practice test for both and then picking which one you did better on/thought was easier.

Hopefully that helped!

Create a common app profile and start filling out all your information and picking what colleges you want to apply to. Start preparing drafts for your common application personal essay.
