Yes, since it expires after two years you better consider taking it at least next year.

The SAT doesn't actually expire, so you can take it sophomore year, but keep in mind that you may not be as academically-prepared yet. You can take the SAT as many times as you want, but you'll need to list in your Common App how many times you've taken it, and more than 3 times may look unfavorable to colleges.

So, if you've taken practice tests and are scoring in a range you want, then by all means take it as a sophomore! But if you're finding it too difficult at this time, you may want to wait until you have more high school coursework completed. Best of luck!
