What matter more GPA or Grades on transcript?

Which one looks better GPA or individual grades? I received a few Bs in Honors courses and one C. However I have a decent GPA of around 3.8. Will colleges weigh in on more of the grades I received or my overall GPA? Have these grades already hurt my chances at good universities?

This isn't a hard and fast rule, but (logically) your GPA would matter while comparing your application with others' applications, while your individual grades matter more for considering you for the major(s) of your choice. It's possible that you get into a university with a good GPA but you don't get your preferred major.
