Help/ advice for sports

Hey guys, I really need some help/advice, I'm a junior in High school and after this school year I want to join my cross-country team. The issue I have is I never played a sport in high school and I would be joining my senior year, is there a chance I could get recruited? I know colleges like it when athletes play for a couple of years, do you still think I could get offers considering cross country is a fall sport? Thanks in advance for all the advice :)

Probably, but I think you'll have a hard time if you're not putting all your efforts into cross-country. Also, you're going to depend on your coach to evaluate your rankings, which can be slow at times. I haven't played sports too so I cannot go much further than that. If sports are a minor part of your application and it's here for fun, try that. But I would recommend taking care of your life.
