Future English Teacher

Hey!!

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I could do to help me get more experience in teaching English? I would like to be a teacher for high school students. Preferably 11-12 grades. I have already taken almost all the English courses available in my school for my grade level and I am going to be tutoring soon. I am even taking independent studies with my English/Literature teachers so that I can learn more but I want some hands-on approaches to this.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you're in NHS there may be opportunities for you to tutor other students, and with my high school, you can choose what categories you tutor, so that would definitely help you gain experience.

You can also find volunteer opportunities to help elementary/middle school kids who are having difficulty, it's not highschool students but at least you'll get some experience teaching others and asking questions.

You can also see if there are any clubs for tutoring others if you aren't in NHS or if your school doesn't have it.
