Is Texas A&M Univeristy a good school for Actuarial Science?

Hey! I'm planning on majoring in Actuarial Science at TAMU. On their website, they have the major as "Applied Mathematics - Actuarial Science focused." I was wondering if it would be a good idea to apply for Actuarial Science here? What does the program consist of?

Thanks!

Hi @Teja.sviii!

TAMU is a good school for Applied Mathematics in general (Ranked 32 by CollegeVine for Applied Mathematics). It's a good idea to apply to TAMU for Actuarial Science because it's easier to get in compared to the other higher-ranked colleges.

You can look at the TAMU undergraduate catalog for what kind of classes you'll have in your major. If you want more details about the program from people actually in the program, post your question on r/aggies.

Hope this helps!
