is calc or stats better for information/data science

I’m interested in going into info science or data science in college, but am unsure if I should take AP calc or AP stats. Data science is technically considered teh STEM field, however there are a lot of stats related classes that I have to take. But, I know I have to take calculus too. I feel like AP stats will give me a good basic knowledge of the program required classes I have to take, but AP calc would give me a start in the required classes. I feel like I’d do better in stats because I’m averaging low b’s in precalc right now, and am just not a huge fan calculus, but if I have to put in the time and effort next year, I will.

I'm taking AP stats and was thinking about going into the same field. You can also take AP calc but highly recommend you take AP stats since it is closer to data science though AP calc isn't bad either. Since you mentioned that calc isn't your best pursuit, I would recommend you take AP stats. AP stats won't give you a lot of information on the program required classes (since most of them are CS/Python related) but it will give you some really good basic knowledge
