How important is commitment on college apps?

How much is a good amount of commitment for extracurriculars?

Suppose I have 4 extracurriculars (internships) that all lasted for about 4 - 8 weeks long and all the others are between 1 yr to 2 yr long. Is that good enough commitment to present to colleges?

Colleges like to see relativity to your major and commitment in applicant extracurricular portfolios. If it was something you believe shows a part of you and what you can do, then present it. For the ‘how much is a good amount of commitment’ question, I don’t think there is a complete answer to that.

Would the lack of long term commitment in most ECs, but amazing positions be a weakness for my college application?

I have enough ECs that keep me busy doing the school year especially with the amount of APs I'm taking, but these ECs are Tier 3 and maybe lower Tier 2. Internships and Research programs (higher Tier 2) are activities that I've reserved for the summer when I can give them my complete attention and spend a good amount of time each day on them, but the commitment is short term commitment (ranging from 2 weeks to 3 months).

Do you think I should somehow try keep them going for longer or just settle with my plans? What do you personally recommend?

Thank you for your time!!
