First Job Recommendations for Juniors

Hello everyone!

I am a junior in North Georgia and I was wondering what first jobs you all recommend? Also, if you recommend a company you have worked at, what was/is your favorite part of working there?

I work at an ice cream store (Baskin Robbins) and omg it is so much fun! Some people who work with me really hate it, but personally, I love it bc it's it's like Papa's Scooperia irl. The work isn't hard but it teaches you a lot of skills - to name a few customer service, organization, supervision, work ethic, etc.

One thing I will say is most management is probably not as good as my management. They prioritize school and our schedules first and we get to choose what days we can work every Sunday. Most businesses will just assign you days you have to work and you always have to work those days. This flexibility makes the job sooo much better and I definitely recommend finding management similar/that you like.

Honestly I think any customer service job is going to teach you a lot and prepare you for interactions you will have and future jobs. For example, I personally think being a barista teaches you more (or at least more useful in the long run skills) than being a lifeguard, though I'm sure that's kind of an unpopular opinion.

I'm also going to work as an EMT as a summer job but that I think is probably not the best first job LOL

Thank you for your advice! I think there is a Baskin Robbins near my high school, so I will see if they are hiring!
