Should I take both the SAT and ACT?

I've taken the SAT and I've heard a lot of juniors say they have taken/ are taking/ want to take the ACT. If I take both, can I send both and if so, does it look better on my application (assuming roughly equal performance on both tests)? Thanks

It's possible to send both! Provided the scores are roughly equal, there's no harm in taking & sending both, since it provides more information to college admissions officers, and shows that you're a solid and consistent standardized test taker, (The SAT and ACT are quite different in terms of the test itself, and strategies needed to take it). However, it's not necessary to take both, and I don't think it would harm you if you only submitted one, especially considering most schools are test optional nowadays.
