So I have a 2.9 gpa currently and I need help on how to raise it so I can have a higher chance of getting admitted to some colleges. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could raise my gpa?
@fillopastry,
Truthfully told (by what I know), in order to raise your gpa, you need to take college courses, whether that is Honors Classes, AP, or Dual Enrollment. Try talking to your counselor about these options to see what fits right for you. Keep in mind that some colleges may not accept the credits you do IF you choose dual enrollment classes. It also does cost money, but most universities/colleges usually offer financial aid! Make sure your grades are as high as you can get them as well!
Rigorous courses increase your weighted GPA, not unweighted.
Hi @fillopastry!
You're basically asking how to study better. Here are some tips:
1. Make a schedule and stick to it. Good time management is very important.
2. Form study groups with friends.
3. Don't procrastinate.
4. Ask for help when you don't understand something in class.
5. Look up study techniques on YouTube and find out what works best for you. There are countless ways to improve learning and I simply cannot cover all of them here.
Hope this helps!
One really easy way to higher your gpa is asking all of your teachers for extra credit assignment and following through with them. Even if they don't have anything to offer, you've at least shown them the initiative you have to raise your grade :)
