Hello everyone! I was one of two girls chosen out of my whole Junior class to represent our school at Girls State. How does Girls State appear to colleges?
Girls State is a prestigious leadership program for high school girls that allows them to learn about government and civic engagement through a simulated state government. Participating in Girls State can demonstrate to colleges that you have strong leadership skills, are interested in community involvement, and have a passion for learning and exploring new opportunities.
Colleges look for well-rounded students who have diverse interests and experiences, and Girls State can be a unique and impressive addition to your college application. It shows that you are willing to take on challenges, have strong communication skills, and are committed to making a positive impact in your community.
However, it's important to remember that Girls State is just one aspect of your college application. Colleges consider many other factors, such as your academic record, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation. So while Girls State can be a valuable experience and can enhance your college application, it's important to also focus on other areas of your application to make it as strong as possible.
Hope this helps
