Public Speaking vs Honors Pre Calc
Answered

Hey, I picked my classes for senior year and I had no room for public speaking, a class I wanted to take. Should I switch honors pre calc out for Public speaking. I'm going into Nursing so I'm thinking I won't really need it pre calculus. Any advice?

Honors pre calc may help you skip that class in college, however those chances are very slim. If you would prefer to take the public speaking class, I feel that you should go for it. Depending on which college you plan on attending, public speaking may look great on your profile. Most courses require at least one math credit, so keep that in mind when making your decision. If you have time to volunteer at a local hospital or other medical centre, that would also help you in your pursuit of a Nursing degree.

You could also take pre calc over the summer and do public speaking in the school year. So you get more comfortable speaking to others, but I feel taking pre-calc now would save you time and help you in college.

Firstly, I am a high school student as well so take this advice with a grain of sand. I think that math is probably a good skill to have for nursing, and can build problem solving skills. Also, I don’t see the connection between public speaking and nursing. However, this is Highschool, and you should do what makes you happy.
