Would it be too late to get my GPA up?
Answered

I'm trying my best to improve my grades, because I haven't been trying my hardest. I've got a 2.9 cumulative, and I'll be taking 2 AP courses next schoolyear to increase my GPA, and I'm aiming to finish the year with a 3.0 final grade (since the other three quarters have limited my final grade to a B at highest.)

I am going to be taking somewhat easy to pass courses (for me, at least.) so I should get A's.

My school does not do A- or A+, just an A.

You should try and ask your teachers for extra-credit assignments. I know it may seem like a lot but it'll be worth it. Colleges will see your gpa for the first semester and if you finish off with a decently higher gpa that'll show them that you can work hard and grind it out. It's not how you start but how you finish.
