should i be a teacher assistant my junior year?

my teacher, english 2, asked me to ta for her my junior year. does this look good on my college apps? i was planning on taking a free period, but now i am considering being her ta. it would be a pass/no pass class for 0 credits.

here are the other classes i am taking my junior year:

jazz band

wind ensemble

ap english language & composition

us history

ap physics 1

spanish 3

ap calculus ab

If you think you can handle it, you should take it. Not everyone can handle 3 APs and 8 classes, especially since junior year can be the toughest, but if your teacher asked you to TA she clearly thinks you are qualified for this, and yes I think it would look good for college apps as long as you do well. I'm just not sure if you would report that under activities or somewhere else (like in the extra info section) on your college apps, but you can figure it out.

I don't believe simply being a TA will look good on college applications. It's all about the experience and what you can write about it that makes the difference. This is also a good opportunity to build a connection with your English teacher. This way, she also gets to know you as a person instead of just a student in her class. If you plan on asking her for a recommendation letter in the future, it will be well written as she has already gotten to know you.
