I'm weighing my options on whether or not I should take AP seminar and research. If I do, I can get both a capstone diploma and an AP seminar and research certificate.
Would these look good on a college application? And would these possibly open me up to scholarship possibilities? I'm tryingbto figure this out so I don't accidentally waste my time studying on something that won't help me in the long run.
What major are you into and do you want to do undergrad research? If you want to go into a lab heavy field (ie biochem) it would definitely help. Research especially so. But make sure it fits into the story you are making.
I am Speedy and I want to major in biochem so I can prepare myself for grad school. I did AP Research to gain expierence blah blah blah.
Well, I am actually wanting to go into a feild similar to biochem (haven't really decided yet). It looks like it would benefit me then, thank you.
Most colleges don't take Capstone credits. I just finished AP Seminar and after doing it the teacher told us that most colleges don't accept Capstone credits but for the past couple years more and more colleges have started accepting it. That's all I know... hope it helps
I'm not an expert, but I believe Capstone diploma/certificate holders are given priority at most/certain colleges. It looks great on college apps, and scholarship apps. It could boost your chances of being accepted to your school of choice. In the long run, yes it will be helpful, especially with the skills you'll learn from the classes.
