Is this smart?

I'm trying to get a head start into looking at colleges, since my school is very into setting students up. I was wondering if it would be good to start writing practice essays? I know that essays are one of the most problematic parts of applying places and I don't want to be sitting with an empty page. Will this help in the long run?

Of course start writing practice essays! It can't hurt, and it'll hone your writing skills and help you figure out what a college essay should sound like. If you can find the prompts, that would be even better!
