A couple of days ago, I posted a poll on what my next move is with my college experience. It closed last night with split results for extracurriculars and AP classes.
As said in the poll, this is the related post of AP classes. Before I get to that, I think that it would be helpful to say what my goals are for college. Personally, I think that it's unrealistic for me to shoot for an ivy. Instead, I'd rather go for a more selective school than most, and in order to do so, I will need to work on my stats. Which is where AP classes and extracurriculars come into the picture. I think that 6-9, maybe even 10 would be good. I would space all of the AP tests out in a two to three year period, so I could do about three each year. I am planning to go into a STEM major, so most of the APs that I am looking into revolve around that.
Anyways, here's the list of APs that I have considered
1. Comp sci principles
2. Comp sci A
3. Biology
4. Psych
5. Chemistry
6. Physics 1
7. Stats
8. Research
9. Seminar
10. Pre-Calc
All of these are candidates of being dropped from the course list. I am aware that AP Pre-Calc comes out in 2024, but I think that I would benefit from taking it. I will also probably need to take all of these classes online, since neither the place that I currently live in nor the place that I am moving to has any of the following APs offered at the local highschool.
Have taken AP CSP (Computer Science Principles), and AP Stats out of these. In my opinion, AP Calc is easier than AP Stats (I have taken both, Stats in 9th, Calc AB in 10th. Although this is subjective.) As for AP CSP, it's a really easy subject AS LONG AS you have a decent amount of programming experience. One of my friends who sucked at programming and had almost no experience struggled heavily in both the class and the exam. It made them hate comp sci.
Take this as a grain of salt though,
