Class choice

I am in RS program, which is taking courses full time in community college during high school year. I plan on taking calc 1 and Eng 1 on the first quarter, still deciding whether to take civics or US history along. My friend had recommended taking civics(harder class than US history) first quarter, since the later quarters i would be taking harder classes such as calc 2 and Eng 2, which I plan to take with an art class. But I am concerned about the order of the course. If taking US history after civics would have impact in my performance on both courses.

I think the order that your friend said makes sense because that way you can balance out the difficult classes with the easier ones. I think civics might even give you a good background for US history since it talks about voting rights, which are mentioned a lot in USH.

Hey there @Yamyeung!

I don't really think it matters what order you take them in grade-wise. If you're busier outside of school or with other classes in the spring, take civics in the fall, but if you're less busy in the spring, take it then, when you'll have more time to devote to studying. If you want to take the harder class in the fall to get it out of the way, that might be smart because then you could relax a little more in the second quarter.
