What should I choose?

I just got my schedule for my junior year and found out that band and Latin 3 are in the same period. I want to pursue both because I want to get into ivy league schools. Latin 3 is good because I want to have 4 years of a foreign language because that's good for the application and band is a fun extra curricular that I love to do. Which one should I choose?

honestly, I think it's based on what's available in your area. If your school had a solid program that allows you to take college courses for graduation credit, you can always consider taking Latin 3 (or the college equivalent) outside of school. The benefits of this is the gpa weightage because it should be treated the same as an AP course depending on your school's policy.

You could consider joining an extracurricular band that isn't at your school, but that may not be a good idea for your junior year because with extracurriculars like band, colleges like to see you being part of that group for more than one or two years. So if you're doing well in your school's band or have a lot of friends in band, I'd suggest taking band in school and Latin at a local community college or university if you can.
