No Volunteering/Internships

Internships aren't as important, but not having any volunteering definitely isn't the best thing. However, I was in your shoes once (I still am haha)! I have a 3.93 with practically no volunteering hours, but this year I was able to join more clubs and be open to more opportunities. Not having extracurriculars definitely impacts your chances at competitive universities, but as long as you show effort into trying to reach out and explain in your applications why this is the case for you, you should be fine.

Try looking for online opportunities! During Covid, I was able to find a program that had you create letters to send to nursing homes and they'd give you hours based on how intricate your letters were. I was in another program where I was learning with other students about different topics on the human body, and I believe it was able to be counted as volunteer hours (or if you're in the IB Program, it would count as creativity). Internships are nice, but if you aren't able to find any or get accepted, don't sweat it! Look on TikTok for companies/programs advertising their online volunteer opportunities, and you should be fine! You got this!

make that clear in your application and you should be good! fill that space with other activities :)
