Suggestions for student recovering from AP Trauma?

Well, as the title suggests, I'm preparing for AP Courses again (I go to online school so if the timing feels a bit off that's why). I'm new to doing school online and have only been doing it since freshman year of high school. That year, I thought I could handle the new setting where teachers weren't teaching every day and social interaction was very minimal. Additionally, I had to learn the school's system (which I had never seen before), get used to monthly reports, and learn to really do things on my own. I tried one AP course and I had to drop it because I was so overwhelmed.

This year, my counselor realized that I had maxxed out of available honors classes at my school so the only option left for me is AP. This might help my GPA and give me more time to do these classes since currently I'm only taking four honors. I'm super determined to give it another try this year but a part of me feels really scared. I don't want to miss the opportunity to challenge myself but after dropping that first course, my confidence just isn't the same. What should I do?

If your school offers Dual Enrollment classes, I think that those are a better option than AP and you should look into that. However, I'm in AP Lang right now and I would recommend it; the workload is not heavy at all and I never have any homework (but maybe that's just because of my teacher).

Thanks! DE is another option that I am considering. But, I plan to do it a bit later in the year. AP is the best fit for me right now, as far as timing is concerned.

Yes! I absolutely recommend concurrent enrollment. That is what I’m doing right now it’s it’s so much better than AP and you’re guaranteed the college credit if you pass the class!
