Research/Internship Programs for Juniors

I've been trying to make a list of programs to apply to for the summer. Can you recommend me some programs based on my interests?

- Science/Medicine

- OR Humanities (social issues, politics, journalism, etc.)

- Free or at least relatively cheap

- hands on experience with projects & working with professionals (example: working at a clinic/lab, writing a research paper, etc.)

- Preferably in Texas, but I don't mind looking into out of state ones

- could you please rank them in tiers based on prestige & selectiveness/competition?
