Do I need to cite a public domain hymn title?

This is for a scholarship essay. I appreciated the poetical aspect it added. This is the sentence: "When I was in the bleak mid-winter, the expectation of new life offered hope to cling to."

In the Bleak Midwinter is a Christmas hymn, public domain. Is public domain considered common knowledge? Do I need to cite it?
