Hi everybody--unfortunately I'm struggling with w/choosing my classes for next year just like everyone else--I want to get into Yale (my dream school) or a T20 school. However, my school is very career-oriented so we can have 2 class periods worth of an internship (which is, unsurprisingly, a really popular option that a lot of people are signing up for). I'm not sure whether to do an internship (hopefully at a law firm or City Hall) or to do dual credit electives. I want to major in Public Policy/International Relations/Political Science -> work as a civil rights lawyer.
Would dual credit or an internship hold more weight in terms of competitiveness? Also, these are my currently requested classes (7 slots per semester):
Required: AP Literature
Required: AP Biology
Required: AP Stats
Required: Pre-Calc (Dual Credit)
Required: Gov/Econ (Dual Credit)(able to take over the summer)
Elective: Chinese 4 (Dual Credit)
Elective: Sociology/Psychology (Dual Credit)(able to take over the summer)
Thanks!
I don't know if this will help but maybe do the dual enrollment during the summer and do the internship during school time. Or you can switch if posible and do the internship during the summer and then dual enrollment during school time. Hope this helps. :)
You can also do dual enrollment and internship during the summer or do volunteer work with the dual enrollment during the summer.
