I've taken 3 AP classes my entire HS career, but I'm not sure if I want to take any APs next yr, or which ones to take. Is it worth it to take them as a senior and also commit to taking the exam? Also, I'm considering going into a social science major while minoring in the STEM category, and my choices for senior yr are AP Gov, APES, and/or AP Lit.
Yes, think taking APs in the senior year is a good idea- as long as you can mentally handle it. One way to make sure it isn't too much is to begin preparing the college application in the summer (essays, final test scores, choosing letter of rec writers, etc.) Then you can focus more on keeping up with your school work.
Please consider all your senior year activities when making this decision- if you plan on part-time jobs or anything time consuming like that, you may not be able to take as many AP. Balance is important to staying healthy. Also, it is your last year of high school, so be sure to enjoy and savor it while continuing your course rigor. Your senior classes do matter.
