Does anyone know any good programs for high school students based on healthcare/health policy/mental health?
i read the other answer and they're right. Unfortunately you probably won't get an internship or a high end research volunteer shop or something without personally knowing the employer. Internships are mostly accepted for college students. I would recommend (depending on your grade) volunteering at a local hospital or clinic near you and trying to "rise in the ranks" and getting more responsibility, because unfortunately most hospitals or clinics won't give out a big responsibility job like that.
You can look into your local hospital and see if they have any programs. Most hospitals will have programs for teens.
To keep this community safe and supportive:
I'm aware that I wouldn't be able to assist the medical staff or have managerial positions but I've seen high schoolers help with marketing an initiative, managing their social media accounts, write articles for an app/company's blog, propose projects to reach a wider audience, coordinate guest speaker events, organize presentations, work with the staff on co-authoring research etc. as part of these programs. I've found one, and I was hoping to find similar ones for gaining more experience.
