Is bioengineering an unreasonable major based off of the classes I've taken?

Hi all,

Junior here worried about college apps. I really like bioengineering or biotechnology as a major and was thinking of applying to more competitive schools for this major. However, I have never taken a physics course. If I took physics senior year would that even make a difference to colleges? For reference, I took regular biology and chemistry freshman and sophomore year respectively. This year, I'm taking IB Bio HL and IB Chem SL (I am not an IB Diploma student, but most of my classes are IB/AP). Senior year I'll be taking a second year of IB Bio and there's room for me to take physics. Should I take physics next year? Would it affect my chances of getting into the major?

Thanks!

P.S. I haven't taken any coding classes either, but I've been a part of a coding club at the school for 3 years and I plan to continue next year. Other than that, I'm mostly on the Bio/chem side of STEM.
