Low GPA for Rice
Hello, I am currently a junior with an UWGPA of 3.5 and WGPA of 3.9. I realize they aren’t the best but my extracurriculars focus on robotics, our team has won state championships back to back and we are currently looking at another robotics program. My act (retaking) is a 28 and PSAt (taking sat in may) is 1300.
What else could I do to strengthen my chances? Or am i screwed 😭
Intended major is biomedical engineering
I don't think it is impossible to get into Rice. I recommend doing your best to keep up your grades and if you can take any APs or honors that may increase the GPA, that could help.
Continue to stay involved in the ECs related to your passion. Colleges really want to see demonstrated passion.
Biggest tip: Write an incredible essay! Start practicing by looking up common essay prompts and then writing essay after essay. Here is a post I made about writing essays a while ago: collegevine.com/c/junior/49537/make-your-essay-stand-out
