Grades

Hi!

I'm a rising junior, and I understand grades and GPAs are essential to getting into good schools. I had very mid-grades freshman year and then okay grades sophomore year. If I lock in and get straight As in my junior and senior years, would I still have a chance of getting into decently prestigious colleges?

Hi! My friend was in the same situation as you, and she locked in in junior year and has brought her GPA up a lot. She also takes a lot of dual-credits, which come from the local college, which raise her GPA. Good luck!

Hi @peak! Yes, I would say you absolutely have a chance of getting into a good school. If I had to suggest, narrow down what you want to do in college and focus all your energy into courses that relate to that. If you're worried about your GPA, I would look into a CCP (College and Career Promise) or another pathway like that. Taking dual-enrollment credits can also boost your GPA, and, if those fit what you want to go to college for, it is definitely a good look!
