When does the next Collegevine Direct Admissions Cycle start??
I personally do not know. I have not used the direct admissions process because I am positive the schools on my list are not part of the direct admissions thing. Also, I have heard peers on here have issues definitely with the college connections, cannot remember if there were problems with direct admissions as well.
Personally, I think it may be better to focus on applications through the common app or the university itself because the Collegevine profile doesn't show everything. For example, there is no essay. Also, I think very few schools participate and they are likely small schools with few programs. Just something for you to keep in mind and research. Maybe Ivy assistant would give info on the direct admissions.
I tried using Ivy but it says it's not up to date. Also I want to know what types of colleges are interested in me. I know connections are there too but do colleges really need connections to students who they would accept? I've gotten from some top schools but I doubt they would accept me. That's why I want to know about the direct admissions but I didn't know only certain colleges participate in CollegeVine direct admissions. I still appreciate your response, thanks for clarifying!
No, you don't need a connection to get into the school and a connection does not assure admissions. Some top schools just reach out to schools because they are all about statistics. As negative as this may sound, they want a low acceptance rate because that's what makes them selective. So they do want tons of applications even though they only accept a few.
Hope that's helpful and lmk if you have any questions.
