Cooked GPA

I did really bad in freshman year ( 3.3 weighted? ) and mid sophmore (3.8 weighted). my grades are good except for 1 class which is bringing my gpa down. If I lock in next year and senior year, do i still have a shot at competitive colleges?

Personally I think it's still possible. In fact, my GPA was in a worse position than you I was. I got 1.3 in 8th grade, 2.9/3.0 in freshman year and 3.9/4.0 in sophomore year. To be honest, top universities prioritize ECs a lot like @leonid mentioned. In fact, in top universities it's 55% of your application. So do some spectacular in your ECs and I think you should be solid lol.

(If you were curious what I got this year as a junior, it's 4.1/4.2, with my UC/UK/Japan GPA being 4.1 overall and for the rest of US unis it's 3.8 overall)

Hope this helps,

SilverDragon (11th/rising 12th, Class of 2025, from Japan)

do you have any extracurriculars? if you do something really spectacular and get your grades up you might be able to help your chances a lot
