Honors and Awards

Hi everyone!

I'm a rising senior who is pretty happy with his GPA and extracurriculars but I was just wondering if any of you guys have taken any Cisco or CompTIA certification exams because I'm not sure if I should put them with my awards and honors. I plan on majoring in COMP Sci or Cybersecurity and Cisco/CompTIA are the leading organizations in this domain as they aim to advance the number of IT professionals but I've seen people say that they don't won't do much for my college application, should I still include them?

I have friends who have taken the Cisco Exams, and they've gotten into pretty good schools (Princeton, Yale, Stanford, UMD, etc). While your GPA is important, the certification exam demonstrates to colleges that you are committed to your area of interest.
