Scholarships

I'm in my summer between junior and senior year with no work experience, volunteering hours and very little club affiliation. But I have a 3.8 GPA unweighted and am taking half the AP classes at my school (which isn't a lot we only have 7 and I'm taking 3). Needless to say I am in need of scholarships. If any of y'all have started applying I'd be extremely grateful to know what website you're using to find them. T-T pls help me what do y'all think am I cooked or am I cooked

Fastweb is great (once you turn 16). I also love scholarships.com. They dig up all the small niche interest scholarships. I used to enter tons of no-essay scholarships but never won. I HIGHLY advise applying for scholarships that either 1) have very narrow criteria (like, future major, hobbies...) OR 2) that require something of you- an essay, project, or even a photograph of something! Choose essays where you will actually have a chance (your hobby, interest, future major, talents...) and it will be so worth your time. Never assume you don't qualify; maybe you just have to address the essay prompt creatively. Other websites I use are bold.org, going merry, and collegexpress.com

Essay scholarships also help you prepare for college admissions. The more essays you write, the better!

Colleges also offer merit scholarships based on your GPA, test scores, and academics. That will be something to consider when you begin applying.

Hope this helps and lmk if you have any questions!

Thank you this gave me a lot more motivation and confidence to apply to scholarships! Do you know anyone who has actually won anything from bold? It feels legit but it also feels like iโ€™m wasting time. Thank you for the application tips too i really appreciate it ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ Iโ€™m applying for a lot that require <1000 word essays bc Iโ€™m afraid that if I put too much time into them and lose it my mental health will ๐Ÿ“‰๐Ÿ“‰๐Ÿ“‰ but Iโ€™m going to into math so my competition will be fierce but small๐Ÿ˜ญ

You got this :) The more you practice, the easier it gets. Don't give up and keep at it. It takes time. AND save ALL your essays...you can often reuse bits and pieces of them or even an entire essay because some prompts are similar!! This is partly why I can apply to so many. Also, get critic and find videos on writing better essays. It's totally worth it. I don't know anyone who has won from Bold but I am also homeschooled, lol.

I've also been looking for websites for scholarships and my counselor recommended me a few:

bigfuture.collegeboard.org

scholarships360.org

scholarshipexperts.com

Hope this helps!

Wishing you lots of luck!!! You have a great GPA and don't worry about the amount of APs that you are taking, as long as you are working your hardest in your classes thats all that matters.
