Hi, is there anything I can do to get higher chances into UCLA because right now I have a 9% chance, with a 3.8 gpa, that used to be a 3.4, I have 5 extracurriculars and will be adding 2 more this year, and I am also president for one of them, and varsity athlete for 2, I also am top 2% of my class and I'm from Texas (11/951) My PSAT scores weren't great, I got a 950, which is really bad but I was also sick that day so I feel like I didn't try my best. Is there any tips?
UCLA is test-blind, so your PSAT score doesn't matter because they don't consider test scores. Try to make more impact in your extracurriculars, take challenging courses, and maintain high grades to boost your GPA!
hi!! :D
im not sure if this will help much, but i have heard that the amount of community service you have will make or break your profile for a lot of high level colleges.
it sounds like youre doing great with your extracurricular plan and academics!! if your school offers them, AP and dual courses do WONDERS for increasing gpa. if theres a subject youre very confident in you might wanna try an AP class! if it doesnt work you can always switch!!
since the pandemic SAT and PSAT scores havent been considered as much as they used to in college decisions. i believe thats why its very important to build up a good profile in your community (sports, community service, clubs, etc), which is exactly what it seems youre trying to do!! so thats awesome :]
i hope this helps you a little bit!!
This is good advice, but I've seen some colleges are moving away from the test optional policy for this upcoming admissions cycle, and the ones that do consider scores consider them important. They've only taken the PSAT, so there are opportunities to get that score up or go for test-optional colleges!
Edit: Forgot that the UCs are test-blind.
