Although it might be a little late to change it into AP Lang, i’m starting to feel guilty for not pursuing it. Even though I’ve gotten recommended to not do it from my English Honors teacher, it feels wrong to just give up in the middle because I still plan on doing AP lit, as I’m trying to strengthen my college applications. Should I go for it?
As someone who has taken the class and exam, I can safely say that the content itself is largely useless. You will learn analysis better from any science AP/Honors and rhetorical analysis isn't helpful unless you are majoring in Old English. That being said, it is thousands of times better than AP Lit. I would reccomend taking both just for the "course rigor" but if you have the option, choose Lang over Lit every time. Good luck, hope this helped!
tl;dr: Take it for the credit, not to learn something useful. If you want to learn to write, take a science AP.
Science AP>AP Lang>AP Lit

I have also taken AP Lang. I love the humanities, so I am biased, but I think the class is well worth your while with the right teacher. You will learn how to hone your analytical skills and read a variety of non-fiction texts. It's a good building block for any educational journey. If you truly want to go for Lit, I recommend taking it and to talk to your English teacher again. Good luck!
